This guided tour is ideal for all ages and abilities! This tour allows you to observe animals rescued from the illegal wildlife trade, now thriving in beautiful natural enclosures. You'll also gain insight into LCTW's conservation breeding programs, where critically endangered species are bred to help re-establish and reinforce wildlife populations in Laos. It’s a truly unique experience you won’t find anywhere else in the country.
Join us for a guided, leisurely stroll through the forest, where you'll have the chance to encounter our rescued bears in their natural enclosures and spot beautiful sambar deer and muntjac along the way. This tour offers all the features of the Discovery Stroll, with the added experience of observing these majestic animals up close in a serene woodland setting. The walk covers a short 2 km stretch on uneven terrain, making it an easy yet immersive way to explore the wildlife around you. Perfect for nature lovers looking for a peaceful forest escape!
Embark on an unforgettable journey through the breathtaking Phou Khao Khouay National Park, where you'll explore lush forested habitats alongside one of our expert wildlife professionals. In addition to everything included in the Bear Forest Walk—such as encounters with rescued bears, sambar deer, and muntjac—you'll spot even more wildlife, including gibbons and langurs, as you trek deeper into the forest. This physically demanding trek spans approximately 3 km of steep, uneven terrain and includes a lunch break amidst the natural beauty. **Please note: This trek is not recommended for those who are unfit, elderly, or for small children.

Find Your Way to LCTW:
Wildlife, Wonders, and Adventure Await!
When getting directions in Google Maps, there are two ways to get Google to show you the shortest route.

Get directions to LCTW, but change your mode of transportation to "motorbike" instead of "car". This will take you across the bridge and the shortest way here.

If you can't change your mode of transportation to "motorbike", use the point marked as Shortcut Bridge on the map below as your first destination. After you arrive at this bridge, you can use the second pin marked as LCTW to get to our wildlife rescue center!
You can also follow the signs for Lao Conservation Trust for Wildlife, which you will start to see as you turn off Route 13. If you have questions, don't hesitate to contact us on WhatsApp!
On Arrival, please feel free to use the Nampien Yorla Pa restroom near the parking lot and then drive your vehicle across the dam. You will continue down the road until you see a large mural (our crocodile habitat). You can park your vehicle in the dirt area near the road. Our staff will meet you there at your scheduled time.
We partner with various companies and individuals to provide easy transportation to and from LCTW. Please see the list below for contact information and pricing.

Discovery Laos: Book your own EV vehicle for a self-drive adventure, or if navigating Laos feels daunting, opt for their private van service. The van will take you to LCTW, wait for you during your tour, and return you to your hotel. If one of these options sounds good, you can arrange your journey directly with their team for your LCTW adventure! Discover Laos also donates 10% of each ride booked through them to LCTW.
